The Short Version

Two kinds of VR, one clear pick for big groups

Both put your crew in headsets. Underneath, they are built on two different ideas about what VR should feel like, and the gap is bigger than most people expect.

Arena

Free-roam, not room-scale

Walk freely across a large arena instead of standing in a small private room.

8

Up to 8 players together

Keep the whole group in one game. Sandbox seats up to 6, so someone sits out or splits off.

AAA

Worlds made for gamers

Far Cry, Warhammer 40K, Cyberpunk, and Jumanji, built around major gaming franchises.

"Amazing time. Can't compare to a place like Sandbox because in my unbiased opinion, ZL is better... an awesome staff with top notch equipment. I'll definitely return when I'm in the area with a larger group."

A Fair Word on Sandbox

We will be straight with you

Sandbox VR is not a bad experience. Its full-body motion capture, where you see your own arms and legs and your friends' avatars move in real time, looks great and photographs even better. If that exact feeling is the thing you most want, you will enjoy it.

For us, the trade is worth it. We would rather give you a whole arena to move through and room for two more players than add body trackers to a smaller space. Different priorities, and now you know both, so you can choose the night that fits your group.

Questions

Zero Latency VR vs Sandbox VR, answered

What is the difference between free-roam and room-scale VR?
Free-roam VR, like Zero Latency, lets your group walk freely across a large arena, so the world feels like a place you are actually inside. Room-scale VR, like Sandbox VR, keeps play inside a smaller private room where you mostly stand and make shorter movements. More space means more real movement, and room for up to 8 players instead of 6.
Why should I choose Zero Latency Jacksonville instead of Sandbox VR Jacksonville?
It comes down to five things: a bigger play area you physically move through, more players in one game (up to 8 versus up to 6), a better fit for events and parties, gaming-focused content built around franchises like Far Cry and Cyberpunk 2077, and a longer history in free-roam VR (Zero Latency has run arenas since 2015). Both are great experiences. If you want the most room to move and the biggest group game, free-roam is the pick.
How many people can play together?
Up to 8 players in a single shared game, which is part of why we are popular for birthday parties, group outings, and corporate team building in Jacksonville. Smaller groups and pairs are welcome too.
Do I need any gaming or VR experience?
None at all. Most of our guests are first-timers. A Games Master gets you geared up, explains everything, and stays with your group through the session, so there is nothing to figure out on your own.
Is it too intense for kids?
It depends on the game. We run high-energy titles like Far Cry and Outbreak, and we also have adventures built around teamwork and exploration that suit younger or first-time players. Tell us who is coming and we will recommend the right experience.

Bring up to 8. Play free-roam.
